Web app steps
Review the visible total
- Open the Web app and go to Products.
- Select an inventory that has Total stock and at least one product Price field.
- Check the product count and price total near the top of the table.
- Use search or table filters when you only want the value for a subset of products.
What Inventory value means
Inventory value is a calculated total for the current product list. It is not a separate product field that you type manually.
How the number is built
- Product stock value
- Total stock x Price for one product. For example, 22 units x 3.00 = 66.00.
- Inventory value
- The sum of those product stock values for the products currently visible in the list.
- Filtered value
- The same calculation after search, category, location, or other product-list filters are applied.
- Multiple Price fields
- If the inventory has several product Price fields, such as Cost and Sale price, each field can have its own total.
Before you start
- The inventory has a product custom field whose type is Price.
- Products that should count toward the total have a numeric value in that Price field.
- The product list includes Total stock. Products with no stock, no price, or an unusable price value do not add to that price total.
If you still need a Price field, create one from Custom fields. For detailed steps, see Add custom fields.
Simple example
| Product | Total stock | Purchase price | Value added to total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Printer paper | 22 | 3.00 | 66.00 |
| Sticker | 205 | 0.25 | 51.25 |
| Mouse | 50 | 8.00 | 400.00 |
| Visible total | 517.25 |
Why the value changes
- A stock entry, output, movement, or count changes Total stock.
- Someone edits a product Price field value.
- The product list is filtered by search, category, location, or another filter.
- You are looking at a different Price field, such as Cost instead of Sale price.
Use it as an operational estimate
Inventory value helps you review current stock worth inside Mobile Inventory. Confirm quantities, price fields, taxes, currency, and accounting rules before using the number in financial reports.
